The Boys' Birthday Party

Because Noah, Liam, and Tucker's birthdays fall one right after another, approximately one week apart each, we had a full day of celebrations planned just like last year. We woke up, had breakfast, and went to Noah's baseball game where we met up with all three sets of the kids'  grandparents, my grandfather, and Ryan's sister's crew. I love watching Noah and his team play - such a great group of kids! As soon as the game ended, we all raced back to our house where we enjoyed Chick-fil-a sandwiches, nuggets, fresh fruit, carrots, chips, and macaroni and cheese. YUM! The boys devoured their food in record time - for those of you who know Noah and Tucker, you know I was singing the hallelujah chorus! We immediately moved into opening gifts, which is quite a feat with 3 boys and very generous family!

All 3 boys got roller skates, but Tuck was especially skilled at skating!

Every boy needs a super hero cape

The proceeds from the capes supported a child's adoption!

Noah, Liam, and Tucker received so many wonderful gifts. I am confident that they will stay busy playing for a long, long time! By the time we finished with gifts, Ryan said, "Amy, we need to leave in 20 minutes for Liam's game." WHAT?! How did the time pass so quickly? We hadn't even had cupcakes or sang the boys' happy birthday yet!

The boys were very excited to see the Big Hero 6 characters on their cupcakes this year! They love Big Hero 6 and have assigned each person in our family a character from the movie. Naturally, Noah is Hiro Hamada. Tucker chose Wasabi and loves to act like he has razor sharp plasma blades on his arms. Liam jumped at the chance to be Fred, of course, as he is the funniest character in the movie. Ryan is Baymax (Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la), and I was assigned the role of Go-Go. I'll take it! Poor Tyson, the only one without a voice in this little game of ours was given the role of Honey Lemon. Please note the resemblance.

I mean I guess they both have yellow purses! Maybe the boys are onto something after all. :) One-by-one we sang Happy Birthday to Noah, then Liam, and then Tucker. Look at our precious boys blowing out candles for their 7th, 4th, and 4th birthdays. Adorable!

After everyone scarfed down cupcakes, we drove at the speed of lighting in 2nd gear cautiously and responsibly to Liam's game. Once again, all three sets of grandparents came to cheer for Liam! Have you ever watched 4 year olds play baseball? It is hilarious! You know how the coach keeps extra balls by the pitcher's mound? My favorite is when the opponent hits the ball, and all of the kids rush to get it. Those who don't get the actual ball grab the extra balls from the pitcher's mound. Suddenly, you have 4 year old boys throwing several random balls to people who aren't paying attention! It's a riot!

When Liam finished playing, we drove back home and put the Littles Middles down for naps. Yes, it was 4:30 p.m., and yes we let them sleep until 6:30 p.m. That is what you do when you are preparing for your fourth major event of the day: an outdoor movie party with 49 children and adults. Ryan and I had built a 15x8 foot movie screen to attach to the outside of our morning room. Since Duck Tales was such a hit last year, we picked out the movie The Chipmunk Adventure, an original Alvin and the Chipmunk movie from 1987 for the party this year.

And then the rain came pouring down!

So, Ryan and I initiated Birthday Party Plan B - a pajama and indoor movie party. After everyone arrived, all of the kids chose a full size candy bar/treat to enjoy along with a small bottle of water.

Noah loved his time with friends!
The movie was beginning!

Bertie was especially happy to have lots of treats!

You can barely see Tuck here, but he stayed close to Noah's side during the movie.
After some issues with our with the projector getting signal, we changed gears and had the kids watch the movie on our TV.

Many of the boys (and Sophie who adores he brother) ended up congregating in the back of the room

Our boys had so much fun with their friends! After we said goodbye to everyone and put the boys to bed, Ryan and I decompressed from our very long, very fun day with an episode of Blacklist. We were exhausted to the core! I went to bed with so many thoughts in my mind and emotions in my heart. What a incredible day celebrating the lives of three loving, kind, funny, silly, compassionate, precious boys. Noah, Liam, and Tucker - I love you guys more than you will ever know!
