The Big Move

Well, I knew I was very behind on my blogging (so much so that they actually changed the format for writing blogs), but not a written word between February 9th and April 27th? That is awful! Oh future Liam...please know that I have enjoyed every minute with you since I last wrote. I blogged so frequently when Noah was your age, and I'm overcome with guilt sometimes over it. I hope you won't hold it against me. This really has been one of the busiest years I can remember. Between being a mom of two kids, figuring out how to balance work and family life again, remodeling the kitchen, going through Liam's surgery and recovery, celebrating holidays, enjoying a "lighter" January to mid-February (which left just enough time to read all the Hunger Games Trilogy with Ryan), putting the house on the market, and quickly getting two offers on the house two weeks later, I would say we have had one heck of a year!

It's hard to believe that we will only live at 3367 for two more days. Ryan and I moved into this house in June 2006 with our two dogs, Kya and Layla. A four bedroom house seemed excessive at the time, but the rooms slowly began to fill after Noah's birth May 15, 2008. Soon after he was born, we had to say our goodbyes to Layla after her seizures reached a point that she could be severely impaired by their intensity. Only the joy from Noah's presence in our lives helped us push past the pain of our broken hearts. We made memory after memory with Noah over the next 3 years (which were well-documented in this blog), and then Liam Thomas was born on May 6, 2011. The two weeks following his birth were truly the best of my entire life. My life felt complete, and I enjoyed every minute of our first summer as a family of four.

I think that's the main thing I feel emotional about as I look back at our past here at 3367. I labored at home with both boys for several hours, which was an incredible experience. Then, bringing home our two precious sons is something I will always cherish. Hopefully we took enough pictures over the past 5 years, 10 months to help us remember this chapter of our lives.

For now the plan is to move into a rental house that our friends are so gratiously leasing us. Then, we can just be patient until the right house hits the market, or we build the home of our dreams. The family who bought our house seem really great, and I am excited for them and the memories they will make here. We keep praying for God to open the right doors and close the wrong ones. It feels awesome to give up complete control over this situation and trust Him to show us our next steps. Every time we start to move in one direction, and it doesn't work out, we just thank God for closing that door because we know that He has our best interest at heart.

Right now, my house is filled with boxes, and it is chaos trying to move with two small children and a pup. But you know what - I wouldn't have it any other way. My kids are healthy. My husband is healthy. I am healthy. We are moving forward as a family to this next chapter of our lives together, and I can't wait to see what adventures lie ahead!
